Today, at gamescom, Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order announced the next big expansion to the blockbuster Cities: Skylines. The developer recently launched its Concerts mini-expansion, which allows the player to host live events for citizens, among other similar features. The new add-on, simply named Green Cities, will bring a multitude of new asset additions - 350 to be exact - to advance your city's sustainability.

The new expansion will give you the ability to take your city into the future with new buildings - including organic stores - electric vehicles, and eco-friendly services designed to make pollution a thing of the past. Fresh specializations will allow you to keep certain types of buildings, people, and services located in specific zones, preventing the possibility of a dirty commercial building popping up next to an upmarket apartment.

Scheduled for launch later this year, the expansion will be available on Windows PC, macOS, and Linux for $12.99. As usual, Paradox noted that there will be an update to the base game which will add several new assets such as electric vehicles, road modding tools, and a lot of new beautification options.
